And here's the mug!

Designed by us (with a little help from Milan Guanko), sculpted by Pappy Squid and torches made by Max at Taboo Island.

Follow the link from this page, but please be aware that the Relight The Night mug is ONLY available at the event! You can purchase your mug now and it will be available for pick-up on April 10th at the Kon Tiki

This looks really fun!

Thanks guys! We've updated the web site with the dimensions and capacity of the mug.

Here's the basic info:

The Super Limited mug measures 8" high (plus 1" extra when the lid is on) and holds 12oz. Includes a base, a lid, a swanky red glaze on the inside, 2 removable, hand-painted resin tiki torches and is an edition of 50. $110

We cannot endorse the use of any flammable alcoholic beverage while operating this vehicle.

The Limited mug is the same size as the Super-Limited but actually holds more liquid, thanks to the awesome 'Tardis Effect' that Squid has been secretly working on. This mug holds 14oz of your favorite libation and has a one-color glaze. In an edition of 100. $45

Please remember that you can buy the mugs now but they are ONLY available for pick-up in person at Relight The Night.

Thanks.

Jeff,

I have a phobia about vomiting, so don't count on it.

I think most people do Jim,
But when you get going, sometimes it sneaks up on you.

Jeff(btd)

Chris, you won't need any watches because when your mug is full time stops.

Very cool mug guys! Can't wait enjoy a Lapu out of it and torch my eyebrows ... who needs eyebrows anyway.

Here's some Late-Breaking info:

The re-lighting ceremony will take place outside, under the torches, with a pyrotechnic performance by Flam Chen and The Disillusionists and music from Thee Swank Bastards and Shrimp Chaperone. We've acquired the services of Max Cannon, who will MC the evening's event from the outside stage. If you're unfamiliar with Max and his work, here's a link to his web site:

http://www.redmeat.com/redmeat/

(The guy even has his own Wikipedia page):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Cannon

The Tikiyaki Orchestra will be performing 2 sets INSIDE the Kon Tiki. The first set will be a dinner set starting around 8:00. For those of you who've never been to the Kon Tiki, make your dinner reservations now...this will be a really great, intimate setting. Dinner, cocktails, exotica..what more could you ask for ?

Because seating is limited and we'd like to minimize disturbances during the show, we've had to come up with a few little rules:

We'll be taking reservations from 6 'til 7.30

We will hold your table for 15 minutes after your reservation. Please don't be late!

Everyone at your table must order dinner.

Below you'll find a link to a handy seating chart. We'll do our very best to keep updating this as quickly as possible, but please understand if your table choice is unavailable:

http://www.kontikitucson.com/relightthenight/relightseating.html

Remember, seating is limited and dinner reservations are strongly recommended.

You will need to call the Kon Tiki directly at (520) 323 7193 to make your reservations. They are open at 11 a.m (Arizona Time) daily.

Tikiyaki will play a second set later in the evening with no reservations required.

Don't forget your Limited Edition Event mugs, either! Available for purchase now and pick-up at the event :)

nope...too much hair to be Steady Eddie.

So I am wondering what the ratio of out of towners to local Az. tiki peeps is gonna be.
Seems like more Ca. people are chiming in so far.

Hopefully the word is getting out to the Az tiki crowd, that may not look at TC that often.

Jeff(btd)

BTD, So far the locals have the out-of-towners beat! We've also got folks coming in from WA, NV, NM, NJ & CO. The local Tucson Tiki crowd don't tend to post here much (we call them 'The Silent Supporters'). We've got some good local press coverage in the works so I'm sure the Tucson contingent will be showing some pretty serious love for the Kon Tiki!
See ya real soon!

M&M

ah silent supporters,
good to know.

Jeff(btd)

Is there anyone going to this that could pick up and ship one of the mugs to me?
(will cover all costs to ship and any handling fee)
I would really like to go but can't make it, so the next best thing would be one of those cool torch mugs?
email is [email protected]

dinner reservations made,
can't wait.

Jeff(btd)

you should probably eat before then,Jeff...
it's a month away....

good one Kenny,
but I'm trying to lose weight.

Doug is already "flaming". Once you move to California, you're automatically gay.

That's Ernie's Rule...
not ours...

Wow that looks way cool! Sorry we won't be able to attend, but now know that we've got a cool tiki place to visit when we're out in AZ. I'll spread the word on Retro Roadmap about this neat event!:-)

Its A Classic!

M

Here's the link to the Retro Roadmap post- wish we could be there but hope it gets some more folks aware of the event and contributes to it's success!

Mod Betty - who would not mind being in AZ at the moment as Pennsylvania ( and the basement of the Hacienda in particular ) is quite waterlogged!

it appears that Arizonians
will let any kinds of riff-raff
drive into their state!

Bravo Cheeky & Marty. Right on the money.
