I'm going to Las Vegas next week. 21 - 25th
Frankie's is a must see.
That place reads like a roll call of every
artist on Tiki Central and I want to be amongnst'um.
I offered up carved beer taps. No, they don't serve draft. But, they would like a hand carved Tiki muddler.

Then I needed a way to display it.
The base is cement with coarse sand & rock around PVC.
I sand blasted down to the chatahoochie, & poly

I plan to bring it to Frankie's on wed 24th on TC night.
Think they'll like it ?

If they don't like it, you can give it to GROG.

Nice lines on that tiki. What kind of wood is it?
And what's a muddler???

Very Nice

W

This muddler is cherry wood we think.
It's a small [usually] bar tool used to muddle up leaves & fruit & other things that go into exotic drinks.
you don't want to smash them, just break them up to extract the oils & juices.

Very nicely done Will, I love the idea for the stand.

What you can't see in the picture of the base is that when you walk past it all of the stones in the base sparkle. I doubted it would work - but it really came out out great!

Now we need an update on your 3-Wanged Tang!

Will and Tom, I'll be in town this Fri and Sat, would like to meet, let's do p.m.s!

W

I.m back from Las Vegas &
Frankie's was the bomb.
They sure know how to show
ya a good time there.
Met Mrsmiley &
sorry GROG they kept the
muddler.

I saw all the great stuff from TC artists
but, who did this ? it's outstanding.

We stayed in downtown & 2 things
caught my eye.
one was the guy who wrote your name
on a grain of rice. no pics.
The other was the guy who would
sculpt your face in clay, for 39.00.
While you wait. & he was good.

Glad to see you had a good time and your muddler was well received. IMHO it will probably be used more for crowd control - that thing is the size of a baseball bat.

W

Mike, my bartender at Frankie's made my Frankie's experience memorable
Look at his pic. He's totally Tiki.
I want to make him a Tiki pendant.

POOF He's a Tiki pendant.

I'm gona send it to him.
Hope he likes it.

When I told Tom my project he gave me 1/2 of the square dowel he had just cut for himself.
He did the other side.

Well These are really looking Great Plugger, and to think you were dragged kicking and screaming into the carving scene as I remember and wanted nothing to do with it? You have come a Long way my friend.

B

Oh Yeah, These are Really Excellent

W

Jerome you know what you're looking at.
I bought a book "how to carve caricature" & wanted to bring that in to Tiki, but Tiki is caricature.

Ben, I hope you are pleased with the trouble you cause instilling the carve bug in people.Thank you.

i was there last night when you called. i thought that was pretty funny when he told me who was on the phone.

W

At Frankie's, they have the coolest Tiki
door pulls on the restroom doors.
I couldn't wait to get home & make a set
for the barn doors on my new tin shed.

L

Cool barn door set!

J.

Thats Awesome

B

Dammit Will, keep messin' 'round and you're gonna learn how to carve! Excellent.

T

I have got to get some of those!!!

W

Jerome,
You sunk the hook in me & I
just had to try one for my self.
Not nearly as smooth as yours.
They are not as EZ as you make it look.
It's just pine 1x2 but it works good.

Also the matching key ring
to the tin shed door pulls

They go on this barn

Tiki Deluxe in Lafayette,IN took me up on my offer.

Will, always good to see your work on top when I make in infrequent stop in "Carving". Great looking mando-sized door pulls - I imagine that's what the handles on the pearly gates will look like when I make it up there :D

S

Very nice love those handles. How cool is that!

W

How bout those good looking door pulls ?
Is that a common mid west barn or,
the entrance to a Trader Vics ?
Tiki Deluxe made the mounting plate.

And I started this last week
