This was the perfect ending to a perfect tiki day.

After spending the day making mugs at Mieko's and then picking up mugs for the gallery with Clysdalle at Tiki Farm, where Holden let me shop to my heart's content, it was like seeing an entirely different show.

So much of the art was sold and taken from the gallery before Christmas and so many more new pieces were added that the guys had to put up a portable wall to finish hanging everything.

I finally got a chance to talk to the artists about their pieces and the projects that they're currently working on and their upcoming shows.

BigToe - Thanks again for the sketches of your new Tiki Farm mugs. I'm anxiously awaiting their release.

Kenny - Thanks for always being so incredibly kind to me. I need to shop more. I'll PM you.

Clysdalle - Thanks...oh wait. You gave me shit all day long. Seriously. For like 13 hours. But still, you're a good friend and an extraordinarily talented artist. I love your style despite the fact that it scares the bejeezus out of me most of the time.

Read about them here: http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?forum=18&topic=26867

And in Ooga Mooga: http://www.ooga-mooga.com/cgi-bin/all/mug.cgi?mode=view&ind_mug_id=19802&mug_id=3160

"From a Manufacturer
Manufactured by Babalu
Designed by Rick Henderson
Produced in 2007
Edition of 4 and 1 A/P

HipHip's Bird of Paradise was a custom piece conceived of by Kelly Reilly aka Hiphipahula and designed and produced by Rick Henderson aka Babalu. The mug is shaped like a Portuguese man-of-war. On one side, the tentacles are enveloping a human face. On the other side, there is a birdman tiki mask. The lid of the mug on this very limited edition is shaped like the head of a bird with red, yellow and orange feather and an open beak. There is a straw hole at the top of the head. The mug has sixteen different glazes."

THANKS Kate for lovin' it, Ken for the hipe, I want good things for Babalu, he is so talented.

Again Great Show Boy's! Good Times Had!
