An interesting provenance almagam for this Otagiri skull mug. It was made by Otagiri for Hawaii Kai, but eventually had a "Hawaiian Inn" label placed on it. Perhaps Hawaiian Inn bought up some deadstock from Hawaii Kai, or the purloined mugs are sometimes taken for use in other locales? Ha ha, just kidding.

Nonetheless, I do have a skull mug very similar to this style. It is matte white, and has a shallow imprint "made for trader vic". The seller says he got the mug at Kelbo's way back in the 60's at a college fraternity event. I sorta believed him, now I have a bit more reason to. Them mugs gets around I guess.
