After days of brainstorming on how to do as TikiMaxton suggested, putting sound effects on one channel and a control track on the other, I finally figured it out! Now I'm thinking of holding off on completing the CD until I get the color organ (which I ordered Monday) up and running to see how the lights react to sound cues. I was able to mix the sound effects this morning and now the thunderstorm in the jungle is resting on an MP3 file. Other progress, I bought an armload of artificial palm branches from the Dollar Tree (is there anything they don't sell?) and thrifted two giant tiki forks and a giant tiki spoon that will be cut and used as door handles. So things are coming together! I'm spending the rest of this week shopping for affordable light fixtures, a cheap portable fan and a still operable shelf-top stereo unit...will post pictures of the project when the painting begins!
