My wonderful partner brought me a young coconut - tonight was the night to break it out for two drinks I've avoided previously:

Why would you ever drink a Pina Colada again? These are both brilliant!

The main plus for both of them was that both were far less creamy than a Pina Colada - I used light coconut milk (as I would when cooking with it). It's not hard to think of subbing gold or dark Jamaican rum but they are fine as they are.

Cheers to mikehooker & Hurricane Hayward for posting about the Moonkist Coconut recently.

Nice. You shoulda finished the night with a pain killer!

Oddly enough, I randomly decided to make pina coladas a month or so back. Silly me. It did absolutely nothing for me except waste my rum and give my wife's sister heartburn.

Moonkist used to be my wife's favorite, she would always order it at the Mai Kai. But after discovering the Luau Coconut, I much prefer it. Maybe it's that fresh coconut water. What rums did you use?
