First and foremost, it's truly uplifting to see so many of this Ohana stepping up and getting involved. Fez Moai, can you get in contact with those here offering press coverage help, please? That will open the urgency issue up greatly and help Rufus most in getting active help on this. More people knowing means odds increase drastically in our favor to find help that takes action over talk!
It's important to address the realities of this all too . We DO need a new home for Rufus, but the right home too. Also, costs needed to be figured here are costs to have him moved correctly. I have had NUMEROUS large tanks myself, as well and fully concur with the fact that the PH and other chemical/bacterial balances of the current tank need to be un altered as much as possible to insure survival and reduce stress in the move fro the fish. Costs might require a pro to oversee the move, unless we have one here willing to donate skills and transport equipment.
Really shows you the priorities of the current owner on Rufus!!! He/she has NO motivation except $$$! He should be paying us to remove this "burden" from his soon to be sterile establishment. Really makes me sick.
Anyway, lets please all remain kind and apreceate each others efforts and intentions to help make this a success. I know it's frustrating and it gets the emotions and patience flaring ! Lol. we need to remain a team though with all focus on this great lil
' fish.
I am going to asume Damon's owners not responding now to the GM means a "no". So next logical step is solidifying a commitment for a new home. After we have a place secured, we can know better, the costs needed to get Rufus moved and reach out to the communty to generate these funds.
The new owner of Tonga hut, Amy, I have not had the time to get to know yet. If Doug Hourne or Ernie (Grog) or anyone else that knows Amy can pick up the phone today and get a firm yes or no on this...please do! We have no more time to ponder. Same goes for Don's. If those options are all a bust, we need a plan B, which would be someone well experienced with this fish breed and has an active environment that will be a happy place filled with Social stimulation for Rufus. Lets keep hearing from everyone and some firm action taking place. Most of all...keep cool and focussed so we can all celebrate success over a frosty Mai Tai soon!!!!! Lol. Aloha
