Similar to how I feel about Creme de Violet and Creme de Noyeux. I have bottles of each of those with barely a dent in them. "Needed" the Rothman and Winter Creme de Violet to make authentic Avation Cocktails. The cocktail itself is quite good, but the recipe only calls for 1/2 tsp., so this bottle will be around a long time.

The Creme de Noyeux is worse still, because the Rothman and Winter product actually tastes good. The Hiram and Walker Creme de Noyeux (only brand I could find) is nasty stuff and it turns any drink it goes into an unbearable candy apple red. Again, it was a bottle I "needed" so I could make all of the various Gary Reagan "Squirrel Sour" cocktails. I'm sure they would be better with a better product than the Hiram's, which hasn't benefited anything I've used it in.
