Oh Jeeeez, what a tragedy! At first I thought that this was gonna be about another of the many funky Kon-Tiki re-enactments (there were quite a few), but this is just really sad, the South Seas dream gone all wrong. :cry: I bet a lot of people were mad at the father for recklessly going thru with his dream.

"How can we drown? All my family walks on water!" Oh my. Too bad that microfiche film gives such bad photo reproductions, I lightened up this one:

How the f%&# come that that fishing boat did not stop? Never heard of such a thing.

There actually are many examples of families or couples being successful in "dropping out", and living as "boat people" all over the harbors and waters of the world. My first wife sailed the world on a catamaran until she moored with me...for a while...
