This find isn't exactly all tiki, but I thought I'd share it any way. This was one of those "I felt the need to rescue it" purchases. I was at the Kane County Flea Market in St. Charles, Illinois (this flea market in its heydey was second to very few in the U.S.-its now a shadow of its former glory but doing a bit better). I saw this box filled with Hawaiian paperwork from 1967. It turns out this was all the paperwork from a lady's trip to Hawaii in late May/early June 1967. I'm guessing this was an estate gind or something. It appears that she went there a part of the 51st Annual Supreme Session of the Daughters of the Nile (Shriner's wife)(See also
Wives's with Knives-Shag Art). Anyhow, its all here from the Daughter's o the Nile program to the United Airlines in flight book complete with Tiki on the cover, to the flight menu, to stationary from the hotel that I presume she stayed at, to postcards, tourist newspapers from Hawaii, souveneer pamphlets, Hawaii road maps, Luau programs, Restaurant napkin, Souveneer Lei and Necklace, Aloha Airlines booklet, etc. etc. etc. Its pretty much the same kinda stuff that one would get now, only its like a 1967 Hawaiian tourist time capsule. I don't really know how or where I would display this, and I don't really want to break it up, so if anyone is interested in buying it or trading me something, let me know.
