So, it looks like Herman started the Tropic Isle while he owned the Tahiti down the road in Santa Monica. Here is a matchbook cover with the Tahiti Restaurant
and the inside of the matchbook advertises the Tropic Isle in Venice.
So I say Herman was Number 1. DC |
