Tikilizard, thank you for the comments. The spirals take time, but are so worth it.

TikiG, thanks for stopping by. The spiral work is only on one side. There's no rhyme or reason for the hook to point one way or the other, it all depends on the bone.

Just a small update for the week. I'm hoping to enjoy my 3-day weekend, so this will probably be it for the near future. This was a commission piece, and my first dolphin, though sharks and dolphins share a lot of geometry.


The main difference between sharks and dolphins are the nose and orientation of the tail. I added the waves to make the design circular.


Close-up, maybe the nose could have been a little narrower.
