Ganesha is known as the Remover of Obstacles
Lord of Beginnings
and also Obstacles(Vighnesha, Vighneshvara)
But of all he is patron of arts and sciences
and the deva of wisdom and intellect...

just thought you might want to know
since you're painting him.
