Cool Stuff Conga, When you fill those cracks, do it with WOOD, Not filler. Cut some Shingle shaped slices and beat them into the crack covered with glue so that when they go in as far as they can they will be glued in. Next day after the glue dries, cut the protrusions off with a knife, chisel or angle sander/grinder and smooth it out with a light grinder until it is part of the piece then leave it until everything blends in perfect, You may need to sand it but the cracks will be filled and filled tight so will look like they were supposed to be that way.
