I've put my own letter together and sent it in. I think it would be great to get Oakland's amazing Tiki history codified. And, officially, I live in Oakland, and I find the slogan to be full of reckless and cavalier entitlement. I am a huuuuge fan of dark humour & irony, but I'm also deeply involved in trying to tutor to children whose lives are routinely threatened by random violence. Thank you for reconsidering it. |
