Are these new velvets that dark in person or is it just the effect from posting the photos on here?

The one thing I love about velvet paintings is how the colors pop off the canvas because they contrast so brightly with the background.

Are yours more on the darker side?

If so have you thought about adding in more highlights to get a different effect?

I do like your paintings-I like that you are doing more realistic paintings vs. the cartoon drawings you have done in the past. Certainly shows how talented you are tackling both mediums and how you have a great end result.

I was just curious about how the appear in person.

Hi leleliz! Thanks for your comments. I was wondering that too because they look way better and brighter
against the dark bg in person.

I think I've been over-compensating with darkening them in photoshop trying to get the black areas of the velvet dark again thus darkening everything. My camera with/without flash makes it dull and grayish.I Need to ask what others do when they shoot their velvets. So far I can't get them close to how they really look.
Here they are without being fiddled with. Is that too blown out? Everyone's screens are different of course.
Thanks again!
