WoW!!! I have wanted to look up Chubbies and see if there was any info or pics anyone had...and finally I find someone who also remembers it! Very exciting indeed! Chubbies was right across the the Ice Capades Chalet and after skating, we would always go across the way and get a chubbies - ham and cheese, and one of their special drinks...always got the blue one which was named Surf's Up, I think. They had 4 specialty drinks, which were like an Orange Julius, but with a tropical spin, and you ordered those at the front area in front of the restaurant. The tables were thick wood nautical planks encased in thick laquer and had shells and things in them. From the ceiling hung nets, and colored glass balls, and the gratuitous blow fish, which fascinated me. I beleive this is where my love of Tiki was incepted. Does anyone have any pics???? Oh the memories bring back such joy from my childhood.

Along with this would be our trips to The Akron, where we'd get cool imported things that were great decor for my Barbie's house, the Toys R Us on Sherman Way, and Zodys in Burbank with their pink and orange sign. Oh yeah!...
