Well, I know that the renovation is still planned for 2009.

I don't know if anyone knows this or not but the first person that carved anything into that bar was Joe DiMaggio - he carved his and Marilyn's initial within a heart on a slice of that bar which is now with the original owner George W. Gill, Jr. Those of you that have visited the Clipper have probably seen the pictures of her leaving the Clipper that is outside the Wreck Bar. The part of the bar is kept with TONS of memorabilia that the Gill family has treasured with them after selling off the hotels in 2005.

Like I said, the building will remain the same but the contents will more than likely suffer a major change.
