Well, I did appreciate you coming to see us! I listen to the Smoking Menehunes CD all the time myself, especially when I am a little drunk and in a mellow mood...Pat's voice just shines...like golden sun dripping with honey butter. People just don't sing like that anymore. And the songs; INMHO some of the greatest tunes ever written. "South Sea island magic" "Sweet Leilani" and others. Can almost make you cry. Pat has a unique way about him. Perry Como mixed with Mr. Rorke from fantasy island. Something kind of mysterious and creepy under all the corniness! This morning I went looking for some old Spike era menehunes CDs in my collection. We had some excellent stuff going at the time. The one CD I love was burned off a tape recorder at Biff's "mahaloween" party, which was our last performance with Spike 3 years ago. It's amazing, but we had some very detailed arrangements going at the time. I think at that Party we were the tightest we had ever been. The very last song is cut off midway, and then you hear Spike say " Oh great, the cops are here!" Chuck Norris never goes to the bathroom. The bathroom comes to him! |
