O

I think Trader Vic's Corp should buy Doc Weiner out, redo it right and make it look like a place you expect from Trader Vic's.

here is a review from Cityscape

Where do I start because every aspect of this place is bad. They should shut it down, redesign and start over as a brand new concept - leaving Trader Vics where it belongs - in the past. We thought it would be an upbeat, cool, fun atmosphere with good food and great drinks. Ahhh - wrong! No vibe. You could baaaarely hear any music and the lighting was too bright. The host staff is without a heartbeat which coincides with the rest of the space. The crowd was non-exsistent as there were barely any people in the restaurant or on the patio. The people that were there were VERY lame. The staff, when you could find them, were really lame too. They had the energy level of people sleeping and were about as interested in working as I'd be watching paint dry. The knowledge of the staff was non-exsistent also. When asked about the food, they didn't know some things and appeared to guess at others without confidence. Most comical of all was when we were at the bar. We ordered what Trader Vics claims they invented, the Mai Tai. The bartender seemed to be stumped and then threw something together which didn't taste too tropical. I asked the barkeep how to make their claim to fame cocktail and he didn't know. I actually felt bad for the dude, but then when I saw my bill, I no longer had any remorse. The food, from apps to entrees to desserts were, at best, fair, with some of the food being down right bad. We walked upstairs to an empty lounge. We had asked several staff members what the deal was upstairs and they all had different answers - none too positive. Seems like Trader Vics has a lot to change or they will fail and fail quickly. It's strange because you would think anyone could build a good business with such a great location, but they have proved this to be untrue. Zero Stars from this person,.. unless I could go lower. Cheers.

Pros: Location.

Cons: Everything Else.
