Thanks, I think the essence of a Hawaiian shirt is that it is colorful -professional wear or tourist. I remember going to Hawaii in the 80s when the general consciousness, even among tourists was "Aloha shirts mark you as a tourist, and that's uncool", and so there were very few shirts worn by either groups....everybody was running around in T-shirts, that was really dull.
