This guy was always intended to be fairly clean and stylised anyway. So I just went with some contrast texture on the struts in the headdress, and painstakingly tidied all the facial detail with the rubbing sticks and sandpaper. I actually found it nice contemplative work, especially on a hot sunny day with kids and cat popping in and out of the studio.
