Looks quite similar to this piece of Guatamalan jadeite I have (the only piece Ive ever had so this is as far as my comparitive knowledge can go):

My main concern is the grain 'size' in this particular piece of stone. Almost granite-like and a bit larger than in your Moai. Your carving does give me some hope for it though, cheers. Im thinking a Meso-American Tiki for this stuff. some day.
