Someone might just think "TIKI" is a state of mind, because as I read this thread....everyone's answer's so far is just their personal opinion.

Tiki - a cult following of party goers, having fun, follower's who learned how to relax, enjoy tropical drinks that contain Alcohol, enjoy those drinks in funny mugs, cups or coconut half shells, or large bowls and share them with friends.

Yes, I agree that most of today's Tiki items being mass-produced are on the cheesy side, I believe the proper term of years gone by 50-60's was man that stuff is really tacky.

So, IMHO.......Stay with either the Traditional items going for big bucks and have one REAL TIKI ITEM at your bar or Tiki room........OR Buy items offered at the local Party / Discount Store and have a blast with your friends, relaxing and listening to music of your choice, and having a drink out of a cheesy plastic mug / cup or plastic coconut. Either way, have fun and start planning your next get together.

All Traditionalist & Cheesy Tiki collectors are welcome at my Tiki Bar for a dip in the pool and to sip a tropical drink and relax....Let the debate continue.
