again, that is a judgement call. You are saying "everything I buy is not crap and is highly aesthetically pleasing to myself, so it should be the height of aethetics in everyone else's book. And they should recognize it."

conversely, there may be others who see your "Hawaiian shirt" and mug collection and say "what's he collect THAT junk for?" and echo your sentiments.
you gothcer own faction of tiki culture, they got theirs. Their gods, deities and artists just happen to not be personally known to them as yours may be to you.

another perspective may be your stance is ethnocentric or religious dogma; "Our church of tiki worship is the only real tiki worship. That other is not the real thing."

and the sad cycle continues on like some crazy consumer "sorry-go-round" ...

The general clamoring for more "all things tiki that says tiki on it, so it must have tiki in it" has made manufacturers sit up and take notice to supply this omnivorous appetite so everyone is allowed their own choice of tiki product of the day.
You have assisted in creating a monster and now you will have none of it.

....hmmmm..sounds like what happened the first time tiki came around...
