Yes, we usually call taxis for everyone to venture to the Mai Kai. When you arrive to Hukilau, grab a program and check out the full schedule. Depending on what dinner show you are attending is going to determine what time you leave for the Mai Kai. Again, the full schedule will be in the program.

As far as the Safari Thatch Tour, I was there today and met with the owner and his wife and you guys are in for an amazing treat! Just wait til you see the ballroom!! Here's a brief description of what you can expect:

Safari Thatch Open House! Saturday, October 8

Founded in 1984 by Garth and Laraine Wight, Safari Thatch and Bamboo has, over the years, grown from humble beginnings to be the undisputed leader in the creation of jungle themed environments. They open their doors to Hukilau attendees for a “Behind the Scenes” tour of their facility. With guide Garth Wight himself leading the way, you’ll see all the many types of Bamboo they stock and the processes used to create the amazing samples you find in their showroom. We are very lucky to have this resource here in the Southeast! See new samples and learn how you can outfit your own Tiki Bar while you’re there. The “Behind the Scenes” tour is a real treat! You’ve never seen so much bamboo in your life – and the size of the stuff! Whew! You may sign up for the Safari Thatch Open House at the Hukilau Registration Table on Thursday or Friday. We will call taxis for you to share rides and the cost!
