Be sure to cut off excess end of tie-wrap so they don't notice it. They will have to lean over to talk or pick up the whole phone. Another classic is to simply tape down the handset button. Another one is to open up their handset (usually with just a couple screws) and tape over the holes for the mouth or earpiece. Electrical (heavy plastic) tape is best.
