Hey Vern, the last time I visited Virginia was in August of 1980. The company I worked for then sent a group back to Norfolk to survey (shipcheck) an aging amphibious assault ship (USS Iwo Jima). They put us up in a place called the Tidewater Motor Lodge (or Inn or ?). About the 3rd day me and a buddy decided to go out bar hopping and sightseeing and didn't get back 'till about 1:30 in the morning. The next day we found out that DEVO had played in Norfolk that night and came back to the Tidewater and threw a party. I'm still kickin' myself for blowing my chance to meet Mark Mothersbaugh and the band, who were (at the time and still are) a fave of mine. It dosen't surprise me that Mothersbaugh loves this type of photography...so do I.
