Yes you can put images into your emails sig blocks, but it'll have to be HTML code not BB code, and many people block images in their email readers to block spammers from tracking them via server side image loading. The images you put into your email either have to be attached to the email as an attachment or loaded from a server when the email's opened (thus "server side image loading"). I believe that when you embed the image into the email it's made an attachment to the email, but if you only link to the image from the email (like in your Tiki Central sig) it's loaded from a server location.
