Several weeks back, Cammo and I checked out the posibility of turning an island in Mission Bay into a tiki island. We did a recon run to see if it was possible.

Today we took the island in the name of TIKI!

I snuck the tiki down to the beach while Cammo was setting up the tiki ferry. We had Cammo's mom look out for the fuzz for us. The island is straifgt in the background

The plan was to keep her on the beach as a spotter while we rowed across the channel. You can see the SeaWorld tower in the background of this picture

Moments before shoving off. So far, the coast was clear(literally!)

Cammo has some pictures of the ride over, so stay tuned

Here we are at the landing spot, hidden in the back side of the cove

We found the ideal spot and dug it in

Looks good!

I made it so that it is facing my house. You can see my house on the hill. It's the one with the tiki in the yard:

Closer view from the tiki's vantage point. My house is pretty much dead center

We ended up putting it up next to the native palms to help it blend in to the natural environment

The island is just outside of a bird preserve. One of the birds came over to check out his new neighbor

Polly likes his new perch:

And finally, a view from my carving area of the island with the tiki on it:

Tree on left, tiki on right, the bird is sitiing next to the tiki....

You guys should stop by my tiki island when you are in the area...

Should I put my island in Locating Tiki now?

More on this from Cammo coming soon...
